Construction project management has its own credential.

Why PMI-CP, Specifically

A generalist PM credential doesn't cover what construction actually demands.

Contract delivery methods, claims exposure, interface management between trades, and stakeholder coordination on a live site are a different discipline from a typical office-based project. PMI-CP is PMI's only credential built around that reality — and at IGPMS, half your prep time goes exactly where half the exam does: contracts.

1

Built for the Built Environment

Covers delivery methods, claims prevention, and contract lifecycles specific to construction and infrastructure work — not generic project theory adapted after the fact.

2

Globally Recognised

PMI-CP is internationally portable — the credential reads the same to a hiring panel in Nairobi, Dubai, or anywhere else capital projects are run.

3

A Path Beyond, Too

PMI-CP holders can progress toward the PMI Senior Construction Professional (PMI-SCP)™ through advanced self-paced coursework — IGPMS can guide that next step when you're ready.

Before You Apply

What PMI actually requires.

Check this against your own background before you commit time or money — IGPMS will walk you through documentation, but eligibility itself is set by PMI, not by us.

3

Years of Qualifying Experience

Three years of on-the-job experience in construction projects or built-environment projects, completed within the past 10 years.

4

Foundational Course Modules

All four PMI-CP foundational modules must be completed before you apply — self-paced or instructor-led, in any order. IGPMS delivers all four.

3

Exam Attempts Per Year

If you don't pass on your first sitting, PMI allows up to three attempts within one year before you need to reapply.

10

Languages the Exam Is Offered In

English, Arabic, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), French, German, Japanese, and Spanish.

One thing to know before you enrol: the price above covers IGPMS tuition only. The PMI-CP examination fee is paid directly to PMI when you schedule your sitting through Pearson VUE or PMI's online proctoring — it is not included in either tier above. We'll walk you through PMI's own application steps once you enrol, so there are no surprises.
Before You Enrol

Straight answers.

Is PMI-CP the same as the PMP?
No. PMP is PMI's generalist project management credential. PMI-CP is built specifically for construction and built-environment project management — different exam, different content outline, different focus on contracts and site-level coordination.
Do I need to complete all four modules before the September cohort?
No — the September 2026 cohort delivers all four foundational modules as part of the programme itself, in the live facilitated tier. In the self-paced tier, you work through them at your own pace.
What if I don't yet have three years of construction PM experience?
You can still complete the four foundational modules and prepare for the exam — but PMI will not certify you until your experience requirement is met. Talk to us before you enrol if you're close to the threshold so we can help you plan the timing.
Where do I actually sit the exam?
At a Pearson VUE testing centre, or securely online through PMI's remote proctoring — your choice, arranged directly with PMI once your application is approved and your exam fee is paid.

The cohort starts 10 September 2026.

Seats are scheduled around the contracts-heavy weighting of the real exam — reserve yours before the cohort fills.
