PMBOK 8 / ECO 2026‑READY CURRICULUM COUNCIL OF EXPERTS FACULTY MODEL 6 ACCREDITATION & EXAMINATION PARTNERS
Cohort Commences 1 October 2026

Stop managing one project. Start leading the whole programme.

The PMI Program Management Professional (PgMP)™ is PMI's most senior credential — built for practitioners who coordinate multiple, related projects to deliver strategic business value, not just a single deliverable. IGPMS prepares you for the panel review, the exam, and the shift in thinking both require.

Why PgMP Is Different

Five domains. Nearly half the exam is one of them.

PgMP doesn't test whether you can run a single project well — it tests whether you can coordinate several related ones into a single strategic outcome, govern them consistently, and prove the benefits actually landed. Program Life Cycle Management alone carries 44% of the exam.

44%
Program Life Cycle Management
Initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing the program and its constituent projects — the largest single domain on the exam.
16%
Stakeholder Engagement
Identifying, analysing, and negotiating with sponsors, steering committees, and stakeholders across the life of the programme.
15%
Strategic Program Alignment
Connecting the programme's business case and roadmap to organisational strategy, vision, and mission.
14%
Governance
Establishing governance frameworks, stage-gate reviews, and escalation policies that keep the programme accountable.
11%
Benefits Management
Defining, tracking, and sustaining the benefits a programme was actually funded to deliver — beyond programme close.
Before You Apply

PgMP sets the highest bar of any PMI credential. Check it honestly.

This is not a course you take to start a career in programme management — it's a credential that certifies you're already operating at that level. PMI offers two main eligibility paths, both requiring years of documented, non-overlapping experience.

Path A — Secondary Diploma

High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • 4 years (or a PMP) of project management experience
  • 7 years of program management experience
  • All experience within the past 15 years, non-overlapping
Path B — Bachelor's Degree or Higher

Four-Year Degree or Global Equivalent

  • 4 years (or a PMP) of project management experience
  • 4 years of program management experience
  • All experience within the past 15 years, non-overlapping

The Panel Review — PgMP's Extra Step

Unlike PMP or PMI-CP, PgMP doesn't let you book the exam straight away. After you apply and pay, a panel of volunteer PgMP-certified program managers reviews your documented experience summaries. Only once that panel review is approved can you schedule your exam — and you'll have up to three attempts within one year if you don't pass on the first sitting. IGPMS helps you prepare your experience summaries for this stage, not just the exam itself.

Before You Enrol

Straight answers.

Is PgMP harder to qualify for than PMP?
Yes, considerably. PMP requires a few years of project experience. PgMP requires 4–7 years of program-level experience on top of project experience, plus a panel review of that experience before you're even allowed to schedule the exam. It's PMI's most senior credential.
Do I need a PMP first?
No — PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. But holding a PMP lets you skip documenting your project management experience separately, since PMI recognises the PMP as satisfying that requirement on its own.
What exactly does IGPMS help with versus what PMI handles?
IGPMS prepares you for the exam content and helps you draft strong, well-documented panel-review experience summaries. The panel review itself, application approval, and the exam are administered directly by PMI — IGPMS is an independent training provider and does not control or influence PMI's decisions.
What if my panel review isn't approved?
PMI may request additional documentation or clarification before approving your panel review. If this happens, IGPMS faculty (in the Trainer-Led tier) can help you revise and resubmit your experience summaries.

The cohort starts 1 October 2026.

Seats are scheduled around the panel-review timeline and the exam's Program Life Cycle weighting — reserve yours before the cohort fills.
